When you automatically back up your photos and videos to your Google Account, you can find them on any device. Learn how to back up photos and videos.
On Computer
Step 1: Open Photos
Go to Google Photos. If you aren’t signed in to your Google Account, click Go to Google Photos and sign in.
Step 2: Find your photos
When you open Google Photos, you'll find all the photos and videos backed up to your Google Account. Learn more about backing up photos and videos.
- Scroll to see all of your photos.
- On the left, you'll find a way to navigate through and do more with your photos.
Find a memorable photo.
Think of a memorable photo backed up to your Google Account. Try to remember something in the photo, like a dog, the beach, or where you were.
- In the Search bar at the top, enter the name of something in the photo, like "beach," "dog," or "Paris."
- Press enter and you’ll find photos that match your search.
On Mobile
- Install the Google Photos app (Android = Google Photos app, iOS = Google Photos app)
- After installing the app, take a photo of yourself or the setting around you.
When you open the Google Photos app, you'll see all the photos and videos on your account.

- Open the Google Photos app Photos.
- At the bottom, tap Photos Photos.
- You should see the photo you just took at the top. Try scrolling down to see what else is there.
2B.(Find a memorable photo from your past)
Think of a memorable photo that's on your phone or tablet. Try to remember something in the photo, like a dog, the beach, or where you were.
- At the bottom, tap Search.
- In the Search bar at the top, type the name of something that's in the photos, like "beach" or "dog." Tip: You can also tap one of the search suggestions on the page.
- At the bottom right of the keyboard, tap Done Done. This may vary by device.
- Learn how to find people, things, and places in your photos.
Let's use the photo or video you just took and add some fun to it.
Step 4: Share your photo with someone
Let's take that photo you just edited and share it with someone.
- The photo you just edited should still be on your screen.
- At the bottom, tap Share.
- Select a contact, or create a new group to send in Google Photos.
Step 5: Delete blurry or unwanted photos
Take another 3 photos with your phone or tablet. Let's choose the best one and delete the rest.

- Open the Google Photos app Photos.
- At the bottom, tap Photos Photos. You should see the 3 photos you just took.
- Open each photo and choose the one you like best. When you're done, go back to the main Photos screen.
- Touch and hold a photo that you want to move to the trash. Select another photo you want to move to the trash.
- At the top right, tap Delete Delete.
If you have "back up & sync" on, things you move to trash will be moved to trash anywhere else you use Google Photos, so you only have to make changes once.
5B.(Restore a photo)
Imagine you change your mind and you want one of those photos back.
- At the bottom, tap Library and then Trash. Everything you see in your trash can be recovered, but items will be permanently deleted after 60 days in the trash.
- Touch and hold a photo you just deleted.
- At the bottom, tap Restore. This will put the photo back into the Photos section of the app.
